That's Shutora Herring headed to a major milestone, 14 years in the making just a long time coming it was and that's just something I had to do. Shutora never thought she would see this day after dropping out of college at 19. I've been pushing myself like I should have. I'm already 21. Life just happened. For Shutora life would continue to take unexpected turns. After having her first son Signes, two years later she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and there's no cure for it. You know, because I always feel like I had control of everything. And I'm just like, sorry, it's just, I don't know. It was very scary. Now a single mom living with MS, Shutorah was living life in pain every day. But she knew one thing she had a fight through for her son. "It's very unpredictable. I prayed and prayed and then finally I like Okay, I got these. Shutorah would have a second son, Sir James. But something was always burning in the back of her mind: finishing that degree. It was my boys mostly.Now ... I was a single mom, so I know I had to do it for my boys. So two years ago, Shutorah went back to the university of Arkansas at Pinebluff. This time she didn't just attend college. She doubled up on her credits. They might just tell my boys though, whatever life throws at you tell anybody these. whatever life throws at you, you get through it, you just keep going. Do not give up. In that model. She's lived by, 14 years later, finally getting that degree. I wanted to scream. I was so happy. Shutorah not only graduating, but making the chancellor's list and getting a 4.0 in her last semester.
