绝世天劫Armageddon

I address you tonight not as the president of the United States, Not as the leader of a country, but as a citizen of humanity. We are faced with the very gravest of challenges. The bible calls this day Armageddon, the end of all things. And yet, for the first time in the history of the planet, A species has the technology to prevent its own extinction. All of you praying with us need to know. That everything that can be done to prevent this disaster is being called into service. The human thirst for excellence and knowledge, Every step up the ladder of science……Every adventurous reach into space. All of our combined modern technologies and imaginations…… Even the wars that we've fought have provided us the tools to wage this terrible battle. Through all the chaos that is our history, through all the wrongs and the discord, Through all of the pain and suffering.. Through all of our times. There is one thing that has nourished our souls and elevated our species above its origins.. And that is our courage. The dreams of an entire planet are focused tonight.. On those 14 brave souls.. traveling into the heavens. And may we all, citizens the world over, See these events through. Godspeeds and good luck to you.

今天晚上我在这里发表演讲，不是以美利坚和众国总统的身份，也不是以一个国家领导人的身份，而是作为一个普通公民的。我们正面临着非常艰巨的挑战，圣经上称为世界末日，一切事物的终结。然而这是第一次在我们星球的历史上，人类能以掌握的科学技术防止自身的毁灭，今晚请你们大家跟我们一起祈祷，我们必须懂得，我们所能做的，避免这场灾难就是随时准备为我们人类的生存而战斗。人类渴望美好的生活和对知识的追求，每一次向科学巅峰的攀登，每一次太空冒险，一切现代科技，甚至我们经历的战争，已经给我们提供了对付这场灾难的武器。我们人类经历了历史的混沌、错误和过失，经历了所有的苦难和不幸，经历了时代的变迁，只有一种东西它能够滋养我们的灵魂，激励人类超越自己，那就是我们的勇气。全世界的命运将寄托于今晚这14名勇士的身上，他们将登上太空，全世界都将关注这件大事。祝你们顺利，祝你们成功!
