Brazil’s senate opened the trial of Dilma Rousseff, the country’s suspended president,following her impeachment for allegedly cooking the books to hide the realstate of the economy. 

If 54 senators vote against Ms Rousseff, interim president Michel Temer will be sworn in for the remaining two years of her term.

A leaked phone call between IMF and European officials dealing with Greece highlighted divisions between the country’s international creditors and infuriated the government in Athens. 

According to the transcript,obtained by WikiLeaks, IMF officials said the Fund might pull out of the bail-out to create a crisis that would force Germany to offer debt relief.

WhatsApp, a popular messaging service, said it would relax its stance on privacy and start sharing its users’ phone numbers with Facebook, its parent. 

The change, which WhatsApp had vowed not to make when the social-media giant bought it in 2014, is designed to allow more relevant advertisements and friend recommendations on Facebook.
