日本天皇退位事宜（讲解版）｜E0720

Emperor Akihito plans to abdicate in favour of Crown Prince Naruhito, Japanese media reported. He would be the first monarch to step down from the Chrysanthemum Throne in 200 years. The timing was not specified. Akihito, who has reigned since 1989, is 82, and has been cutting back on official duties because of ill health.
