Ben      So, how was your weekend, Jessica?

Jessica  Great! Gina and I went biking out in the country.

Ben      Oh, really?

Jessica   Yeah, it was fun, but there were lots of hills. I was exhausted by the end of the day.

Ben        Yeah, I bet.

Jessica   So…Anyway, what did you do?

Ben       Oh, I had a party Saturday. It was good.

Jessica   Really? Nice.

Ben       Well, anyway…I have to go. I have a meeting now. See you later.     

语言点

1.过去式（表示动作发生在过去的某个时间点，动词要变成过去式）

  Be 动词的过去式（可以翻成当时。。。）

  I was old.
 You were relaxed.
 He was smart.
 She was nice.
 It was noisy.
 They were fun.
 We were bored.

2.过去式的特殊疑问句。

• When did you get back?－你什么时候回来的
• How was your vacation?－假期如何
• What was the weather like?-当时的天气如何呀？
• what did you do there?－你在那干什么呀？

3. by the end of the day.（一天下来／字面翻译是到这天结束为止）

   这周前／周五前 by the end of this week/by this Friday

4. I bet=那是肯定。表示很理解对方的话

5.Anyway.

•   转接下一个话题－Anyway, what did you do?
•   结束一个对话－The party was good. Well, anyway,…I have to go.

6.开会－have a meeting 

•   昨天开了两个会－I had two meetings yesterday.
•   他总要开会－He has meetings all the time.
