Two companies behind a Song dynasty-themed tourist attraction in eastern China are giving their thirty-something single women employees extra time off during the Lunar New Year to "go home and date". 
春节期间，中国东部两家公司为30多岁的单身女性员工提供额外假期，用于"回家相亲"。这两家公司经营以宋朝为主题的旅游景点。

In a notice on Monday, Hangzhou Songcheng Performance and Hangzhou Songcheng Tourism Management said unmarried women over 30 in "non-frontline" roles would be granted an extra eight days of "dating leave" on top of the traditional seven-day break. The announcement comes after a high school in Hangzhou last week offered single and childless teachers an extra two half days of leave per month to find "love". 
在21日发布的通知中，杭州宋城演艺发展公司和杭州宋城旅游管理公司称，除了传统的7天春节假期，30周岁以上的单身"非一线"女性员工将获得额外8天的"相亲假"。上周，杭州一所高中宣布每月向单身和无子女的教师提供两个半天的"恋爱假"。

There were more than 200 million single adults in China in 2015 and the marriage rate has fallen every year since 2013, according to data from the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

A new "smart bin", which automatically sorts rubbish into recycling categories, is being trialed in Poland and is set to go on sale in the UK within a few years. The bin, designed by start-up company Bin.E, recognizes different types of waste via a system positioned inside the bin that uses sensors, image recognition and artificial intelligence.

Once waste is placed inside, the camera and sensors identify its type and place it in one of the smaller bins. Then it compresses the waste so it occupies less space.

Less sleep linked to obesity

Researchers at the University of Birmingham have found that children who go to bed later and sleep less are more likely to be more overweight. Birmingham's research into the sleeping habits of 2,795 youngsters, aged 9 to 12, from the city of Guangzhou showed a link between sleep duration and the amount of body fat.

Research also indicated that the Chinese children were sleeping less than youngsters in the US and Europe - differences which may be a result of a focus on studying and academic achievement in China.

Urban families' assets
住房占家庭总资产近8成

The asset allocation of urban households in China is unbalanced, with nearly 80% of family wealth spent on housing, although these families' average total assets grew fairly quickly, a report said. 
广发银行和西南财经大学联合发布的报告称，我国城市家庭的资产配置不平衡，虽然户均资产总规模增长较快，但近八成财富花在房产上。

The average total assets of urban households reached 1.5 million yuan per family in 2017, up by a compound annual growth rate of 7.6% from 970,000 yuan in 2011. The figure was expected to have increased to 1.62 million yuan in 2018, according to a report jointly issued by China Guangfa Bank Co and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. 
报告显示，2011年，我国城市家庭户均资产总规模为97万元，2017年已增至150万元，年均复合增长率达7.6%。2018年我国城市家庭的户均资产规模预计将增至162万元。

The report was based on a survey on nearly 10,000 urban households with an average annual family income exceeding 67,817 yuan in 23 cities across China. Housing assets took a large part, or 77.7%, of the total wealth of China's urban households in 2017, whereas financial assets only accounted for 11.8%, the report said.
该报告是基于对全国23个城市的近万户年均收入超过67817元的家庭的调研得出的。报告称，2017年，住房资产在我国城市家庭总资产中占比较高，达77.7%，而金融资产所占比例仅为11.8%。
