<口语句型> Let me putit this way! 让我这么来解释一下吧。

让我换个方式来解释一下吧，就可以说成：Let me put it another way。

reality TV n. 真人秀

waste time on meaningless TV： 在毫无意义的节目上浪费时间

the way it is: 成为现在这个样子

distraction n. 分散注意力的事物

grab vt. 抓住

let go v. 放手；松开

celebrity n. 名人； 区分： celebrate vt. 庆祝

gossip n. 八卦；爱说长道短的人； vi. 传播流言蜚语

celebrity gossip 就是名人八卦消息

buzz n. 嗡嗡声。不过这个词现在有非常地道的当代语意，就是网民对于品牌、名人、产品等在网上发出的各种嘈杂的声音。

disconnect vi. 断开与……的联系；短暂逃离。后面通常会接介词from

<口语句型> That’sexactly the issue! 这正式问题所在

that’s exactly …. 这正是……（That’s exactly the problem/reason/what I am talking about）

get sth out of the way! 把……从路上移开（排除困难）

<固定句型> There arerare occasions where… 很少有这样的情况……。Where后面引出具体的情况，有点类似：以下的情况很少见：

必背名句：The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time. 只要是你乐于浪费的时间就不算浪费时间。

what sb mean by ……，即”某人说……的意思是……”

比如，他们说的免费是不花门票钱。What they mean by free is you don’t have to pay the entrance fee.

inform vt. 通知

inform sb to do sth 通知某人去做某事

inform onsb 揭发某人

informed adj. 消息灵通的，比如：a well-informed CEO 一位消息灵通的首席执行官; 消息闭塞的自然就是：ill-informed.

biased adj. 有偏见的

fit one’s own agenda 符合某人自己的意图；打着自己的如意算盘

get a quick glimpse of … 快速浏览一下……

into: 热爱，对……上瘾

professional athletes n. 职业运动员

escape vi. 逃跑

escapism n. 逃避

put oneself in a position where…. 把自己放在这样一个位置上

impact n. 影响、冲击 == big influence

stick with sb 黏上某人

end up doing sth 表示最终……

spectator n. 看客，观众，相当于audience
