The highest mountain in the world is Mount Everest. It’s on the border of China and Nepal. Mount Everest is 8,848 meters high. It’s over 60 million years old. Many climbers dream of climbing Mount Everest one day.

The first people to climb Mount Everest were Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953. Mount Everest is very difficult and dangerous to climb. Almost 300 people have died trying to climb Mount Everest. The temperature at the top can be as low as minus 62 degrees, with a wind speed of more than 300km/h.
