照相日考数学以及作业第四周

平顺进入第四周，作业考试都慢慢来了，纽约长岛学生Lindsay分享她正常的学校一周。

This was a quiet and normal school week. Oh, and we had picture day on Wednesday. We took individual portraits （肖像）for our school profile（本意是轮廓外形或者特征简介，这里学生记录在案的一种需要） So I woke up a little bit earlier because I needed to brush my hair （梳头）well. I wanted to look nice in the picture .

每学期会有职业摄影师到学校来给孩子们一个个拍照，家长看过小样后确定是否付款打印留存。会有些家长义工到学校帮助组织，一部分卖出的照片收入也会进入家委会用于给学生们组织活动。

I also had a math quiz （小测验）. My teacher gave us a review packet （复习材料）before the quiz. I did prepare a lot, but my score on this quiz was only OK. I corrected all of my mistakes over the weekend. My dad will work with me again tonight to see if I really understand. My mom said that I need to do more exercise. So I asked my teacher provided me with an online practise resource. whenever I have free time I will do and practice more math.

Quiz 就是小测验的意思。Lindsay 觉得没考好，找老师要网上练习的资源以后会加强练习。有些收费的教育资源网站会对学校提供免费服务，老师把学生的账号设置好，学生回家就可以免费上网练习了。

Do you have any interesting homework this week?

My social studies teacher asked us to prepare for a project. In it, we have to research Long Island. Our class is divided into different groups. Tourism（旅游业）, industry（工业）, cuisine（美食）, landmarks（地标）, and geography（地理）. I’m in the tourism group. I have to research the destinations tourists go to when they visit Long Island.

Social Study就是社会学研究。最近的作业是分组研究长岛的方方面面，这也是了解家乡的一部分。Cuisine就是美食的意思，LIndsay的方向是长岛旅游业。

Today my friend came over to my house as well. We did homework together and I helped her with her essay（作文） for her social studies class. Tomorrow I have cross country （越野跑） picture day. The whole team wears their jerseys （运动服，这里指队服）and we take a picture together. I am looking forward to it.

周末朋友过来一起做作业必定有学有玩很有意思。周一总是比较困难，但是一起越野跑训练的同学们要穿上队服拍照，上学有新鲜事情，就有盼头了，周一也值得盼望了。
