Don:So, Yael, how did the blind date go?

Yael:Not so well. 1._________________________________.

Don:"Anxious attachment" types? I don't think I know about those.

Yael: Sure.2.________________________________—at least according to research done at HarvardMedical School and the University of California.

Don:What are the other two types?

Yael: Well, there are "secure attachment" people.3.__________________________________. The majority of people fall into thiscategory. "Avoidant attachment" people are afraid of emotionalintimacy and often say a lot of bad things about it.  4.________________________________.

Don:Sounds like "secure attachment" is the one to look for.

Yael: Interestingly, in a study of over eightthousand people between the ages of fifteen and fifty-four, more "anxiousattachment" was found in young people than older people.Researchers havetwo theories about this. It may be that our younger generation is just moreanxious than they used to be—maybe because of other things going on in theirlives.

5.__________________________________. Or itmight be that a lot of people are anxious about love when they are young, andthen as they get older they tend to find a stable relationship and take on moreof the characteristics of the "secure attachment" folks.

Don:That's a hopeful possibility!
