China will cut the retail prices of gasoline and diesel on Wednesday, thecountry's top economic planner announced Tuesday. The prices will go down by130 yuan (about $19) per ton and 125 yuan per ton respectively, according tothe National Development and Reform Commission. It is the fifth reduction inprices this year and the fourth since June 28. The NDRC said the adjustment would furtherreduce traveling costs for vehicles and transportation costs for the logisticssector. International oilprices will likely remain weak in the short term, according to the pricemonitoring center of the NDRC.
