Millions of Brits already have all of their holidays and annual leave booked for 2020. A study of 2,000 UK adults found nearly a third of the nation were planning their trips for the year ahead before it even started. In a bid to beat colleagues in the race to secure annual leave and to give themselves something to look forward to, one in four have even got trips planned for 2021.

Nearly two-fifths book so far in advance because they like to be organized, with one in five saying it helps lift their mood at the time of booking. And more than a quarter do so in order to spread the cost, so they can budget for their time away.

As well as mainland Europe, the US is proving popular for British travelers this year, with one in seven planning to cross the pond.

Ban on nondegradable plastic

China unveiled a guideline to phase out nondegradable plastic products in major consuming sectors on Sunday, vowing to effectively curb plastic pollution in major cities in five years. The country is expected to significantly reduce the amount of plastic waste going to landfills and bring plastic pollution under effective control in major cities by 2025, according to the guideline. 
19日，国家发改委、生态环境部印发关于在主要消费领域分阶段逐步淘汰不可降解塑料制品的指导意见，承诺在五年内有效控制重点城市塑料污染。根据意见，到2025年，我国重点城市塑料垃圾填埋量将大幅降低，塑料污染得到有效控制。

The production and sale of disposable foam plastic tableware and plastic cotton swabs will be banned by the end of this year, according to the document, jointly issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. 
意见提出，到2020年年底，禁止生产和销售一次性发泡塑料餐具、一次性塑料棉签；禁止生产含塑料微珠的日化产品。

The production of household chemicals containing plastic microbeads will be prohibited by the end of this year, and the sale of such products will be barred two years later, it said. The document also pledges to ramp up recycling and introduce preferential policies to promote green packaging and express delivery.
到2022年底，禁止销售含塑料微珠的日化产品。意见还提出，要加大回收力度，出台优惠政策鼓励绿色包装和绿色物流。

No massive outbreak for disease

专家回应新型肺炎疫情

The latest evidence has proved that the new virus causing the pneumonia outbreak in Wuhan can spread from human to human, said Zhong Nanshan, head of a high-level expert team organized by the National Health Commission. But the pneumonia outbreak will not evolve into a massive outbreak similar in scale to the SARS outbreak 17 years ago, Zhong said at a news conference on Monday.

Overseas, one case has been confirmed in Japan, two in Thailand, and one in the Republic of Korea.
