Making the Pie

做南瓜派

All summer long, Bert, Beth, and Grandpa

一整个夏天，伯特、贝丝和爷爷

worked in their pumpkin patch.

都在他们的南瓜地里干活。

They pulled weeds and watered the plants.

他们拔草，浇花。

In the fall, they helped Grandpa pick the biggest pumpkin in the patch.

秋天的时候，他们帮爷爷摘了地里最大的南瓜。

Then they wheeled it to the house and got to work.

然后他们把它推到房子里，开始工作。

It was time to make a pie!

是时候做个馅饼了!

Bert stirred the spices into the pumpkin,

伯特把香料放进南瓜里，

and Beth rolled the pie crust.

贝丝把饼皮卷起来。

When the pie was ready,

馅饼做好后，

Grandpa put it into the oven.

爷爷把它放进烤箱。

“Grandpa,”said Bert,

“爷爷，”伯特说，

“may we invite our friends over to share our pie?”

“我们可以邀请我们的朋友来分享我们的馅饼吗?”

“Good idea,”said Grandpa.

“好主意，”爷爷说。

“Let’s all have dinner together, too.”

“我们也一起吃晚饭吧。”

So Bert and Beth called all their friends.

于是伯特和贝丝给他们所有的朋友打电话。

When their friends arrived,

当他们的朋友们到达时，

everybody sat down to eat.

每个人都坐下来吃饭。

Then, after dinner,

然后，吃过晚饭，

Grandpa served their homemade pumpkin pie.

爷爷端上自制的南瓜派。

“Delicious!” cried all their friends.

 “好吃!”他们所有的朋友都叫了起来。

As everyone headed home, Beth cried,

大家要回家的时候，贝丝叫道:

“Next time, we’ll make apple pie!”

 “下次，我们要做苹果派!”
