The FINA World Masters Championships Gwangju 2019, gathering more than 4,000 aquatic sports enthusiasts, is currently underway in the Korean city until Sunday August 18. The event is all the more meaningful and attractive with a vast number of elderly participants attending. Among the masters athletes, the oldest male swimmer is Tancho Tenev, 91-year-old, from Bulgaria, and the oldest female athlete is Toshiko Amano, 93-year-old, from Mexico. Zhong Ping from China won the third place in 200 meters backstroke group 70 – 74 years old. This is the best result for Chinese team since 1986.

In the second leg of their Uefa Europa League third qualifying round game against Swiss side FC Luzern on Thursday, the mainlander drew first blood for the La Liga side in just the third minute.

Men's Tokyo Volleyball Qualification action was completed on Sunday with twelve matches played across six pools. The top team in each pool earned a place at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games including Brazil (Pool A), USA (Pool B), Italy (Pool C), Poland (Pool D), Russia (Pool E) and Argentina (Pool F). Unfortunately, Chinese Team failed to earn the place at this time, which is at the second place in Poo F.

China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Team claimed a gold medal in a dragon boat race during the 2019 World Police and Fire Games in Chengdu on August 9, 2019. More than 10 teams from China and abroad participated in dragon boat races during the games. Team Hong Kong claimed 3 medals from seven dragon boat events.

There are only about 60 days left to the 7th CISM military World Games. Naval Pentathlon events will be organized in accordance with the latest CISM Naval Pentathlon regulations. It is the first time China team join in these events. Totally there are 4 disciplines, including: men individual, men team, women individual, and women team. The events include obstacle race, lifesaving swimming, utility swimming, seamanship race and amphibious cross-country. The test events were held in Mulan Lake Campus of Naval University of Engineering on August 12th.
