一、词汇积累

1. frightened /ˈfraɪtnd/ adj.被吓到了，感到紧张的

例句

He sounded frightened. 

他听起来受了惊。

2. relieved /rɪˈliːvd/ adj. 感到宽慰的，放心的，不再忧虑的（和“frightened”意思相反）

例句

I'm just relieved that nobody was hurt. 

谁都没有受伤，我深感宽慰。

3. drive somebody  驱赶某人

例句

Mr. Zuckerman said, “Drive him to the barn!”

祖克曼先生说：“把小猪往谷仓里赶！”

4. take command  行使指挥权

释义

“command”意为“指挥、发号施令”。“take command”意为“行使指挥权”。（书中，“take command”指鹅妈妈指挥Wilbur出逃的路线。这个霸气的短语也是作者幽默的体现。）

例句

Sagan knew he had to take command. 

萨甘知道他必须行使指挥权。

5. fall for sth.  （俗语，俚语）相信某事，被……欺骗

例句 

Don’t fall for it.

别被骗了。（书中，Zuckerman叔叔拎着一桶泔水引诱Wilbur回猪圈，鹅妈妈大喊“Don’t fall for it!”，提醒Wilbur别被一桶泔水骗回猪圈，失去自由。）

1. overhead /əʊvə'hed/ adv. 在头顶上

例句

2. below /bɪˈləʊ/ prep. 在……下方

例句
