This topic delights me so much as I long for a vacation, but I couldn't take time off from work. I work at an animal hospital that’s busy day to night. I actually have planned to travel with my friends to Hefeng, Hebei last August, but the plan failed, unfortunately. 

We drafted a detailed plan for a week-length trip. We did extensive research on the Internet before we agreed on two destinations: the “dodge valley” and the ancient riverbeds along the Liao River. I have to tell you the story about how it’s named. In the old days, the locals had to evade bandits so they had to climb the steepening valley. Gradually, they named the valley “the dodge valley” to commemorate the old days. But these days, tourists come to experience the thrill of walking on steep mountains. 

At the foot of the mountains, there're ancient riverbeds along the Liao River, which we would love to visit too. It’s gonna take 3-4 hours hiking from the dodge valley to the Liao River. Along the way, we’re expected to walk through various caves in the dark and come across different kinds of plants and insects that we rarely see in the cities. That’d be a lot of fun for urban citizens like us. 

It’s no exaggeration to say that it’s not easily accessible at all. It takes 9 hours on the train before a transfer to the bus, which is another 2 hours until we reach our final destination. But it is the inaccessibility that helps preserve its pristine condition. I’m so looking forward to visiting there. Hopefully, my boss would soon approve my annual leave.
