调查:人过30不再听新歌

People stop discovering new music at just 30 and a half, according to a new survey from Deezer. 
音乐流媒体服务网站Deezer进行的最新调查显示，人们在30.5岁以后就不再听新歌了。

The music streaming service surveyed 1,000 Brits about their music preferences and listening habits. 60% of people reported only listening to the same songs over and over, while just over a quarter said they wouldn't be likely to try new music from outside their preferred genres. 
该网站对1000名英国人的音乐喜好和听歌习惯进行了调查，60%的人表示只一遍遍地听同几首歌，而超过25%的人称，他们不会去试听自己喜爱的音乐类型以外的新歌。

Some of the reasons the survey revealed were people being overwhelmed by the amount of choice available (19%), having a demanding job (16%), and caring for young children (11%). 

该调查揭示的部分原因有：歌曲太多，犯了选择困难症(19%)，工作太忙(16%)，以及要照顾孩子(11%)。

Rather than having less time, some research suggests we listen to the same songs over and over again because of musical nostalgia.

One major study, published in the journal Memory & Cognition, found that music had a very powerful effect on the mind to evoke memories, conjuring up old echoes of the past at school or university.

Lava evaporates freshwater

Steam billowed up from Hawaii's largest freshwater lake as lava flow evaporated its placid waters within a few hours and made it the latest casualty from the Big Island's Kilauea volcano. 

火山岩浆在数小时内就蒸干了夏威夷最大的淡水湖，原本平静的湖面上升腾起滚滚的蒸汽，这是比格艾兰岛上的基拉韦亚火山爆发以来最新酿成的灾害。

A steam plume first appeared around 10 am as lava poured into Green Lake, but by 3 pm a Hawaii County Fire Department overflight confirmed to the US Geological Survey that the lake had filled with lava and the body of water was no more. 

随着岩浆逐渐侵入格林湖，上午10点左右开始出现蒸汽柱，下午3点，夏威夷消防部门派出的一架飞越格林湖上空的飞机向美国地质勘探局证实：湖中满是岩浆，湖水已踪迹全无。

Green Lake, a popular swimming spot, once reached about 60 meter deep. It's been more than a month since Kilauea erupted and lava began its slow, destructive path. About 20 square kilometers of land have been covered by lava.

Disney animation chief quits

John Lasseter, chief creative director of Walt Disney Company animation and co-founder of Pixar, will leave Disney at the end of the year following a sexual harassment scandal, the company has announced. The decision followed a six-month sabbatical by the animation chief after incidents involving unwanted hugs that made staff uncomfortable. 
迪士尼公司宣布，迪士尼首席创意官、皮克斯联合创始人约翰•拉塞特因性骚扰丑闻将于年底从迪士尼离职。此前，这位动画大师在被曝出对多位员工有不恰当的拥抱举动后决定休假半年。

Lasseter, 61, issued an statement apologizing for missteps after the exposure of the scandal. Lasseter was the creative force behind movie hits like "Toy Story," and "Cars," that won Academy Awards.

$835M on World Cup ads

China will see the biggest boost in ad dollars with $835 million spending on advertising in this year's World Cup, which will be held in 11 cities in Russia from June 14 to July 15. Chinese companies' advertisement spending in this year's World Cup doubles that of the US, which is about $400 million, and it is also far more than host nation Russia, at about $64 million, according to statistics from media group Zenith, which focuses on market analysis.

我国将出现美元广告支出最大增幅，今年世界杯期间的广告支出将达8.35亿美元。本届世界杯将于6月14日至7月15日在俄罗斯的11个城市中举行。以市场分析为主的媒体集团Zenith的统计数据显示，中国企业在今年世界杯中的广告支出是美国约4亿美元广告费的两倍，且远高于东道主俄罗斯约6400万美元的广告费。

Seven Chinese companies are on the sponsors list for this year's World Cup, compared with eight years ago when only one Chinese company for the first time in history sponsored the World Cup in South Africa. "China plays a very important role in the career of promoting soccer's globalization and its participation is indispensible," said Fatma Samoura, secretary-general of FIFA.

7家中国企业出现在今年世界杯赞助商的名单上，相较而言，8年前仅有一家中国企业史无前例地首次赞助了南非世界杯。国际足联秘书长法蒂玛•萨穆拉称："中国在发展足球全球化的事业中起着至关重要的作用。它的参与必不可少。"
