1. dirty work

necessary， but uninteresting or difficult work.

e.g. He did the dirty work on that project.

他干的是这个项目里的苦活。

2. work like a horse

work a lot, work very hard

e.g：I don't know what's wrong with melately. I eat like a bird, work like a horse, and I'm as tired as a dog.

我不知道最近我怎么了，我吃得象鸟一样少，工作象马一样辛苦，象狗一样疲倦。

3.get worked up over something

become angry or annoyed about something

e.g：He got all workedup over the last exam.

他对上次考试非常生气。

4.all work and no play makes Jack adull boy

you need to have fun in order to be a healthy and happy person

e.g.: Go home! Remember: All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

回家吧！记住；只工作，不休息，聪明孩子也变傻。

5.get down to work

stop relaxing, focus on important task

eg：Sorry, I’ve got to get off the phone and get down to work.

抱歉，我要放下电话开始干活了。

6.work out for the best

eventually finish well

eg：Don’t worry about your problems. Everything will work outfor the best.

不要担心你的问题，一切都会圆满结束的。
