Several popular video streaming platforms in China have been criticized for promoting teenage pregnancy, after an investigation by China Central Television found videos of hundreds of pregnant teenagers and teen mothers online. 

近日，国内多家火爆的视频直播平台因炒作少女怀孕挨批，此前中国中央电视台的调查发现了数百段有关怀孕少女和未成年妈妈的在线视频。

These teenagers, who mostly come from villages or small towns, have uploaded their videos onto the platforms in order to grow their number of followers. Because of the popularity of the videos of the young mothers, they are often promoted further by the streaming platforms, such as through the lists of recommended videos. 

这些未成年人主要来自乡村或小城镇，他们将视频传到平台上以增加粉丝数量。由于未成年妈妈的视频风靡网络，因此直播平台通过推荐视频列表等方式对其进一步炒作。

Tian Feng, an expert on youth and social problems with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that this risks exacerbating the negative impact of the videos.

Taj Mahal limits visits

One of India's most famous landmarks, the Taj Mahal, is planning to place a 3-hour cap on visits to avoid overcrowding at the popular tourist location. The enormous white marble tomb, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, draws at least 7 million visitors every year and was recently described by Tourism Minister Alphons Kannanthanam as "India's pride."

印度最著名的地标建筑之一泰姬陵为避免过度拥挤，计划将游客每次游览的时间限制在3小时以内。这座庞大的汉白玉陵墓被联合国教科文组织列为世界遗产之一，目前每年吸引至少700万名游客造访，最近还被印度旅游部长阿尔方斯形容为"印度的骄傲"。

The Taj Mahal was built in the 17th century by Muslim Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to honor his third wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died while giving birth.

Dog food label offensive

Richmond News, a newspaper in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, recently reported that residents were offended to discover a brand of dog food with the label "no ingredients from China". The brand in question, The Honest Kitchen, a producer and supplier of pet food based in San Diego, California, has been promoting its "China-free" slogan since at least 2012.

近日，加拿大英属哥伦比亚省列治文市的一家报刊《列治文新闻》报道，当地居民发现一款狗粮品牌的包装袋上印有"不含中国成分"的标语，对此居民们表示非常不满。涉事品牌Honest Kitchen是一家宠物食品生产商兼供应商，总部位于美国加利福利亚州圣地亚哥市。该品牌至少自2012年起便开始宣传其"无中国成分"的标语。

 "I felt offended when I saw the package and I don't feel very comfortable that a product like this exists in the market," a Richmond resident said. Another resident said "I strongly felt this is discrimination against the Chinese nation and the slogan has crossed the line". 

列治文一位居民说："看到这个包装时我有种被冒犯的感觉。市场上居然存在这样的产品，这让我感到不适。"另一位居民说："我强烈认为这是对中华民族的歧视，这一标语越过了底线。

The paper also interviewed some ethnically Chinese pet owners in metro Vancouver and most of them said they would not consider buying anything from this brand.

Single women in Tokyo, Japan need not feel frightened living alone, all thanks to "shadow boyfriends" that are made to scare off potential criminals. Apartment management company Leo Palace 21 created what it calls a "Man on the Curtain" system for Tokyo residents. 

多亏有了能吓跑潜在罪犯的"影子男友"，如今日本东京的单身女性不必再因独居而感到害怕了。物业管理公司Leo Palace 21为东京居民开发了一种名为"窗帘上的男友"的系统。

Using a projector controlled by a smartphone, Man on the Curtain throws a silhouette of a man onto your curtains, so that when people outside look at your windows, there will appear to be a guy inside, thus masking that you live alone. 

通过一个由智能手机控制的投影仪，该系统会把一名男子的剪影投射到你的窗帘上，因此当屋外的人看你的窗户时，会看到屋里有男人，这样就可以假装你不是独居了。

Man on the Curtain is full-motion, projecting videos of actual actors (in silhouette) for an extremely lifelike look. Currently, the system has 12 different options, including such intimidating routines as a boxer throwing practice punches, a martial artist going through a karate kata, a bodybuilder working out with dumbbells, and a sports fan swinging a baseball bat around.

"窗帘上的男友"是全动态的，系统投射的是真实演员的剪影视频，看起来非常逼真。目前，该系统有12种不同的选项，包括一些令人生畏的剪影视频，比如练拳的拳击手、练空手道的武术大师、举哑铃锻炼的健美爱好者以及来回挥舞棒球棍的体育迷。
