The government inSouth Korea'scapital is introducing a new initiative to force its employees to leave work ontime - by powering down all their computers at 20:00 on Fridays. The shutdowninitiative in the Seoul Metropolitan Government is set to roll out across threephases over the next three months. 

韩国首尔市政府正引入新举措，即通过周五晚8点切断电脑的电源以迫使员工按时下班。首尔大都市区政府的这项关机计划将在未来三个月内分三步推广。

It says it is trying to stop a "cultureof working overtime".South Koreahas some of the longest working hoursin the world. Government employees work an average of 2,739 hours a year -about 1,000 hours more than workers in other developed countries.

Baker fined for overworking

A French baker Cédric Vaivre, who runs theonly bakery in Lusigny-sur-Barse in north-eastFrance, was fined 3000 euros foropening his bakery every day during the summer of 2017 to serve tourists. InFrance, thereare laws that govern when and how often bakeries can stay open. One such law inAubestates bakeries must close at least one day a week, for rest.

近日，法国一位名叫塞德里克·韦夫尔的面包师因2017年夏天每天都开店营业为游客提供服务，被罚款3000欧元。他经营的这家店是法国东北部巴尔斯河畔吕西尼小镇上唯一的一家面包店。法国有相关法律规定面包店什么时候可以营业以及营业多久。在奥布省就有这样的法律，要求面包店每周须至少歇业一天。

 "There's a rule in place that says bakers and otherprofessions in the food industry must close for at least one day a week becauseit's an artisanal trade where people can work a lot, much more than the legallimits," said Eric Scherrer of the retail union CLIC-P. "These peopleneed to have a rest day each week. We can't just allow them to work non-stop.It's absolutely necessary that both bosses and employees have a day ofrest."

Climate change forces migration

Climate change will push over 143 millionpeople from Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and Latin America to migrate toescape the "slow onset impact" of climate change by 2050, ifcountries do not take any measures to curb it, said a latest report by the World Bank Group. 

世界银行集团最新的一份报告指出，倘若各国不采取任何措施遏制气候变化，到2050年，气候变化将迫使撒哈拉以南的非洲地区、南亚和拉丁美洲超过1.43亿人迁徙，以逃离日益严重的气候变化冲击。

"Increasingly, we are seeing climate change become anengine of migration, forcing individuals, families and even whole communitiesto seek more viable and less vulnerable places to live," said World BankCEO Kristalina Georgieva. 

世界银行首席执行官克里斯塔利娜·格奥尔基耶娃称，我们将看到气候变化逐渐成为"难民引擎"，迫使个人、家庭乃至整个群体都去寻找更适合容身、更不易受到伤害的地方居住。

But she also said, "The number of climatemigrants could be reduced by tens of millions as a result of global action toreduce greenhouse gas emissions and with far-sighted developmentplanning." In a best-case scenario, the study estimates that the number ofpeople displaced could drop from 143 million to 40 million.

不过她也表示，随着减少温室气体排放的全球行动的实施，配合高瞻远瞩的发展计划，气候难民的数量将会减少数千万。最理想的情况下，该研究估计迁移的人口数量将从1.43亿降至4000万。
