HOW TECH ISTRANSFORMING HR
three years ago HBR published a feature特写,专题 titled “Why WeLove to Hate HR...and What HR Can Do About It.” In it, Wharton’s Peter Cappelliargued that the current business environment, in which talent is an ever- scarcer resource日益稀缺的资源, presents anenormous opportunity to change the common view of HR as little more than(和什么一样,相差不多) the enforcer执行者 of often-tiresome(常常令人讨厌的) rules and regulations.
That wide spreadview, while overstated夸大情况, is not wholly unfounded并不是没有依据的. Many HR departments havelong 长久以来embraced the rules- and planning-based model that took shape when businessleaders thoughtin terms offive-year plans 五年规划and employees followedpredictablecareer paths. But corporate survival today requires thecapacity forrapid change需要应对快速变化的能力, and forward-thinking思想超前的 HR departments aretransforming themselves to meet the demand for evolving skills( 不断发展的技能) and work models. They’re taking their cuesfrom模仿 a surprising source— the IT department, which at many organizations hasadopted agile灵活的 processes to speed its evolution and betterserve customers’ needs.
thetransition isn’t easy (transitions rarely are). But HR departments that hadstarted to seem out of stepwith 失调/与什么步伐不一致 the business are recasting改写 themselves in the business’simage, with remarkable results—and forcing us to revise our view of HR.
