Hello, I'm Tom.

Tonight's bedtime story is all about a supervillain.

今晚的睡前故事是关于一个超级反派的。

This guy is really naughty, very cheeky, and bright green.

这个家伙非常顽皮，十分淘气，而且全身都是绿色的。

But never fear, because where there's trouble, a superhero is sure to follow.

但别害怕，因为哪里有麻烦，哪里就会有超级英雄。

The story is called Supertato, and it's by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet.

Some vegetables are frozen for a very good reason.

It was night time in the supermarket and all was quiet.

But crash bang!

Something had escaped from the freezer.

Something small and round and green.

Something looking for trouble.

它正在四处找麻烦。

Big trouble.

"Help! Help! cried Carrot.

“救命！救命！”胡萝卜喊道。

"I'm stuck to the conveyor belt!" cried broccoli.

Someone's drawn on my face.

"Mmm." cried cucumber.

Who is doing this?

And was there anyone who can help these vegetables in distress?

Supertato to the rescue.

He used his super speed.

He used his super strength.

He used a flannel and some soapy water.

"I know who's behind this," said Supertato.

There's a pea on the loose.

Oh no!

Not a pea!

Everyone gasped.

Yes, a pea.

But I'm out of the freezer now, and I'm never going back.

And the evil pea ran off to commit more terrible crimes.

Time for a dip, little veggies.

“是时候给小菜们洗个澡了。”

Now that's enough, shouted Supertato.

“够了，”超级土豆喊道。

He leapt towards the pea, but the pea popped out of his hands and vanished into thin air.

他扑向豌豆，但豌豆从他手中弹出，消失在空中。

Supertato set out on a super search.

超级土豆展开了一场超级搜索。

He crept through the cakes.

他悄悄穿过蛋糕。

He checked the cheese.

他检查了奶酪。

He snuck up on the beans.

And then, something caught his eye.

然后，有东西吸引了他的注意。

"The game's up," yelled Supertato.

“游戏结束了，”超级土豆喊道。

Kapow!

嘭！

But the pea bounced out of reach and onto a trolley.

但豌豆弹出他的掌控范围，跳上了购物车。

Supertato was just about to stop him with his super strength when the trolley crashed and he was thrown down into the icy depths of the freezer.

超级土豆正准备用他的超级力量阻止他时，购物车和冰箱相撞了，他被丢进了冰箱的冰冷深渊之中。

Was this the end of Supertato?

Not quite.

But the pea was off his trolley and lying in wait.

"You're finished, Supertato," he shrieked.

But Supertato summoned up all his strength and ran for it.

The pea nearly had him at the beans.

And closed in on him at the cheese.

He had him cornered at the cakes.

"So much for Supertato," squeaked the pea.

"You're about to be mashed potato."

Surely this was the end for Supertato.

"Not today, my friend," said Supertato.

“今天不行，我的朋友，”超级土豆说。

"Gotcha!" said the pea.

“抓住你了！”豌豆说。

"Oh yes," said Supertato.

“哦，是的，”超级土豆说。

"I set my trap and you fell for it.

“我设下了陷阱，你上当了。

Or should that be in it?"

或者应该说是掉进去了？”

And he grinned a super grin.

他露出了一个灿烂的笑容。

Supertato had saved the day.

超级土豆拯救了大家。

"Take him away," he said.

“把他带走，”他说。

And Pea was marked back to the freezer where he belonged.

豌豆被送回了他该呆的冰箱。

"This jelly tastes of pea," said Broccoli, and everybody laughed and cheered.

“这果冻有豌豆味，”西兰花说，大家都笑着欢呼起来。

So remember, folks, some vegetables are frozen for a very good reason.

所以，记住，朋友们，有些蔬菜被冷冻是有充分理由的。

Maybe you'd better go and check your freezer, just in case there's an escapea in your house.

Wow.

That little pea caused a lot of mayhem, but luckily, Supertato was there to save the day.
