Papa, please get the moon for me 爸爸，请为我摘月亮（中英双语）

Before Monica went tobed, she looked out of her window and saw the moon.

The moon looked sonear.

“I wish I could playwith the moon，” thought Monica, andreached for it.

But no matter howmuch she stretched, she could not touch the moon.

“Papa,” said Monicato her father,

“Please get the moonfor me.”

Papa got a very longladder.

He carried the verylong ladder toward a very high mountain.

The very high mountain.

Then Papa put thevery long ladder on top of the very high mountain.

Up and up and up heclimbed.

Finally, Papa got tothe moon, “My daughter Monica would like to play with you, but you are much toobig” said Papa.

“Every night I get alittle smaller,” said the moon. “When I am just the right size you can take mewith you.”

And, indeed, the moongot smaller and smaller. And smaller.

When the moon wasjust the right size, Papa took it.

Down and down anddown he climbed.

“Here,” said Papa toMonica, “I have the moon for you.”

Monica jumped anddanced with the moon.

She hugged the moonand threw it into the air.

But the moon keptgetting smaller and smaller and smaller, and finally it disappeared altogether.

Then, one night,Monica saw a thin sliver of the moon reappear.

Each night the moongrew.....

And grew..

And grew..
