A new study has found that people tend to alter their appearance to suit their names.

The participants could correctly match adult faces to their corresponding names, significantly above the chance level. However, when it came to children, they were unable to make accurate associations.

The researchers concluded that the facial appearance changes over a long time to align with social stereotypes associated with the name. This highlights the profound impact of social expectations and structuring.
