Wearing baccalaureate gowns adorned with traditional Chinese-style decorations is all the rage for graduates this year. The designs included floral hairpins and yunjian.

"Clothing has long surpassed their basic functions and become an important carrier to showcase personality," said Lou Lei, executive director of consultancy Frost & Sullivan China.

Guochao – China chic – is a broad concept that can be integrated with various consumer goods, and clothing is one of the first fields recognized.
