Last month, Apple called it quits on its electric-vehicle dream. One of the iPhone maker’s biggest rivals in China is showing it how it’s done. 

Xiaomi, known for affordable mobile phones, made its foray into the market with its SU7 electric car, which draws styling cues from Porsche. 

Xiaomi helmsman Lei Jun, known for his marketing flair and penchant for turning ideas into products, took to a Beijing stage in a teal blazer to gush over his triumph of making a car just three years after unveiling his ambition.
