My Magic Hat Series Mar---Student Focused Activities

In this episode, we discussed different things that our teachers do to involve students in their learning both inside the classroom and outside of it.  For this episode we went fully international (while our colleagues in China enjoyed the Spring Festival), inviting three professors from Liverpool University and Algonquin College to discuss specific teaching techniques they’re using in the classroom and programmes that our listeners can easily try. 

Here are some of the topics we covered:

• Involving students in curriculum design

• Math scavenger hunts and other orientation activities

• Using 1-on-1 time with students effectively
