A group of frogs were traveling through the woods,
有一群青蛙在经过一座树林的时候，

and two of them fell into a deep pit.

其中有两只不小心掉进了一个很深的坑里。

When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was,

当其他青蛙看见这个坑有多深时，

they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead.
就告诉它们别再努力了，它们死定了。

The two frogs ignored the comments

两个青蛙都不理睬这些话。

and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might.
试图用尽全力从坑里跳出来。

The other frogs kept telling them to stop,
that they were as good as dead.

其他青蛙不停地叫它们停下来，因为他们死定了。

Finally, one of the frogs took heed

of what the other frogs were saying and gave up.

终于，有一只青蛙相信了它们的说法，放弃了挣扎，

He fell down and died.

倒在坑里慢慢的死去。

The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could.
而另外一只青蛙继续努力的跳着。
