The move also highlights the central bank's top priority of stabilizing the domestic economic situation despite downward pressures on the renminbi amid monetary tightening in the United States, they said, and a further reduction in benchmark interest rates may come this year.
专家称，此举也突显出，尽管在美国货币紧缩的情况下，人民币面临下行压力，但央行的首要任务是稳定国内经济形势，今年可能会进一步下调基准利率。

PBOC said in a statement on Thursday that it will reduce the RRR, which refers to the proportion of money that lenders must keep as reserves, by 0.25 percentage points, effective Friday, following a cut in March. The change does not apply to financial institutions that have already adopted a 5 percent ratio.
央行在14日的一份声明中表示，继3月份下调存款准备金率后，决定于2023年9月15日下调金融机构存款准备金率0.25个百分点（不含已执行5%存款准备金率的金融机构）。

The cut will bring financial institutions' weighted average RRR to about 7.4 percent, according to the central bank.

The move came amid signs of a nascent pickup in the country's economic momentum, with inflation and lending figures for August improving from July.

Zhou Maohua, an analyst at China Everbright Bank, said that implementing an RRR cut against this backdrop will help boost market confidence by showing that policymakers are determined to reinforce the pickup with ramped-up countercyclical adjustments.

Experts close to the central bank said the move will release medium- to long-term liquidity of more than 500 billion yuan ($68.7 billion), which will meet the rising liquidity demand, as more than 1 trillion yuan in local government bonds is expected to be issued in September.

The Cultural Landscape of Old Tea Forests of Jingmai Mountain in Pu'er gained World Heritage Site status at the ongoing 45th session of the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday, becoming China's 57th entry to the list and the first World Heritage Site related to tea.
17日，在沙特阿拉伯王国利雅得召开的联合国教科文组织第45届世界遗产大会通过决议，将中国“普洱景迈山古茶林文化景观”列入《世界遗产名录》，中国世界遗产数量增至57项。这也是全球首个茶主题世界文化遗产。

The newly named heritage site, located in Lancang Lahu autonomous county in Pu'er, Yunnan province, comprises five large-scale, well-preserved old tea forests, which stand 1,250 to 1,500 meters above sea level; three protective barrier forests; and nine ancient villages, which are mainly inhabited by Blang and Dai ethnic groups.
“普洱景迈山古茶林文化景观”坐落在云南省普洱市澜沧拉祜族自治县，由位于海拔1250米至1500米的5片保存完整的古茶林，3片分隔防护林以及9个布朗族、傣族村寨共同构成。

The cultural landscape was jointly created by ancestors of the Blang people — who immigrated to Jingmai Mountain in the 10th century and later discovered and domesticated wild tea trees — and the indigenous Dai people. On the basis of long-standing practices, local people developed the understory growing technique, which involves allowing shrubs or trees that are small and sufficiently shade-tolerant to thrive under the canopies of taller trees.
公元10世纪以来，布朗族先民发现和认识野生茶树，利用森林生态系统，与傣族等世居民族一起，探索出“林下茶”种植技术，历经千年的保护与发展，形成林茶共生、人地和谐的独特文化景观。

The committee said: "This land-use system permits the complementary use of natural resources in the mountainous environment of Jingmai Mountain and represents an exceptional example of human intervention by Blang and Dai people in a challenging environment."
世界遗产委员会认为，这一体系展现了山地环境下布朗族、傣族等世居民族人民对自然资源互补性利用的独创传统。
