As the sun set a little firefly was born.

It stretched its wings and flew off into the darkening sky.

日落之时，一只小小的萤火虫出生了。

它伸展翅膀，飞入渐渐暗下的天空。

It was a lonely firefly and

it flashed its light searching for other fireflies.

这是一只孤单的萤火虫，它点亮光去寻找同伴。

The firefly saw a light and flew toward it. 

But it was not another firefly.

 It was a lightbulb lighting up the night.

萤火虫看到一束光，就飞了过去。

但那不是另一只萤火虫，

那是夜晚明亮的灯泡。

The firefly saw a light and flew toward it. 

But it was not another firefly.

 It was a candle flickering in the night.

萤火虫看到一束光，又飞了过去。

但那也不是另一只萤火虫，

那是夜晚闪烁的蜡烛。

The firefly saw a light and flew toward it. 

But it was not another firefly. 

It was a flashlight shining in the night.

萤火虫看到一束光，又飞了过去。

但那也不是另一只萤火虫，

那是夜晚闪亮的手电筒。

The firefly saw a light and flew toward it. 

But it was not another firefly. 

It was a lantern glowing in the night.

萤火虫看到一束光，又飞了过去。

那是夜晚微微发光的灯笼。

The firefly saw several lights and flew toward them. 

But they were not other fireflies. 

There was a dog and...

萤火虫看到几束光，又飞了过去。

但那也不是萤火虫，

那是一只狗……

a cat and

一只猫和

an owl, their eyes reflecting the lights.

猫头鹰，它们的眼睛反射着光。

The firefly saw a light and flew toward it.

 But it was not another firefly.

 It was a car's headlights flooding the night.

萤火虫看到一束光，又飞了过去。

但那也不是另一只萤火虫，

那是照亮夜晚的车头灯。

The firefly saw many lights and flew toward them. 

But they were not other fireflies. 

They were fireworks sparkling and glittering

and shimmering in the night.

萤火虫看到很多光，又飞了过去。

但那也不是萤火虫，

那是夜晚绚烂闪耀的烟火。

When all was quiet, 

the firefly flew through the night,

flashing its lights looking and searching again.

Then the very lonely firefly saw what it had been looking for...

当一切安静下来，

萤火虫飞过黑夜，

点亮自己的光继续寻找。

这时候，这只孤单的萤火虫看到了它一直寻找的……

A group of fireflies, flashing their lights.

Now the firefly wasn't lonely anymore.

一群萤火虫，闪着亮光。

此时，这只萤火虫不再孤单了。
