The US Federal Reserve on Wednesday kept the target range of the federal funds rate unchanged at 5 percent to 5.25 percent, following a slew of 10 consecutive hikes since March 2022.

美国联邦储备委员会地时间14号将联邦基金利率的目标范围维持在5%至5.25%不变。此前美联储自2022年3月以来已连续10次加息。

"Holding the target range steady at this meeting allows the committee to assess additional information and its implications for monetary policy," the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) said in a statement issued on Wednesday afternoon, after concluding its latest two-day policy meeting.

联邦公开市场委员会（FOMC）在结束最近两天的政策会议后，于14日下午发表声明称：“在本次会议上保持目标范围稳定，使委员会能够评估更多信息及其对货币政策的影响。”

The pause in interest rate hikes was widely expected as the year-on-year growth rate of the US consumer price index slowed down to 4 percent in May, from a peak of 9.1 percent in June 2022.

随着美国消费者价格指数（CPI）的同比增长率由2022年6月的9.1%的峰值降至5月份的4%，市场普遍预计美国将暂停加息。

The Federal Reserve reiterated that it is strongly committed to returning inflation to its 2 percent target and will continue reducing its holdings of Treasury securities, agency debt and agency mortgage-backed securities as planned.

美联储重申，它坚定地致力于将通胀率恢复到2%的目标，并将按计划继续减持减持国债、机构债和机构抵押贷款支持证券。

To tame inflation, the Fed has staged an aggressive monetary tightening through lifting the federal fund rate by 500 basis points accumulatively. Notably, monetary policy makers from the Fed raised their projection of the federal fund rate for 2023, from 5.1 percent in March to 5.6 percent, which indicates that the Fed could resume hiking the interest rate after the pause.

They cranked up their forecast for core personal consumption expenditure inflation for 2023 to 3.9 percent, up from 3.6 percent in March, according to a summary of economic projections issued by the committee. 

根据FOMC发布的经济预测摘要，他们将2023年核心个人消费支出通胀率预期从3月份的3.6%上调至3.9%。

Meanwhile, the projection for real GDP growth in 2023 went up to 1 percent in 2023 from the earlier expectation of 0.4 percent, and the forecast for unemployment rate in 2023 fell to 4.1 percent, from 4.5 percent in March.

与此同时，对2023年实际GDP增长的预测从早前预期的0.4%上调至1%，对2023年失业率的预测从3月份的4.5%降至4.1%。

Four young children have been found alive after more than a month wandering the Amazon, where they survived like “children of the jungle,” according to Colombian President Gustavo Petro. The children were all together when they were found, adding they had demonstrated an example of “total survival that will be remembered in history,” Petro said.

日前，哥伦比亚总统佩特罗表示，四名儿童在亚马逊雨林游荡了一个多月后被发现，他们在那里像“丛林的孩子”一样生存下来。他表示，孩子们被发现时都在一起，称赞这些孩子是“生存的榜样”，他们的传奇故事将“载入史册”。

The four children are currently recovering in a hospital in the Colombian capital Bogota after being taken there by air ambulance flown by the Colombian Air Force, officials said. Medical reports say they are dehydrated and still “cannot eat food”.

The children had been lost in the jungle since May 1, when the Cessna 206 in which they were traveling crashed. The pilot had reported engine problems minutes after taking off from a deep Amazon area known as Araracuara on the 350-kilometer journey to the town of San Jose del Guaviare.
