e.g. I’m going to my friend's house tonight. 我今晚要去我朋友的家。
e.g. We're looking to buy a new house in the suburbs. 我们正在寻找在郊区买一栋新房子。
补充5个用法:
1. House party(家庭聚会):在自己的房子里举办的派对或聚会。
e.g. We’re throwing a house party this weekend. you wanna come? 我们这个周末要举办一次家庭聚会,你想来吗?
备注:throw a party 举办一个派对;you wanna come? = do you want to come? 你要来吗?(wanna 在口语中是非正式用法,是want to 的缩写)
2. Open house(开放日):房屋销售或租赁前,开放给公众参观的时间。
e.g. I went to an open house last week, but the apartment was too small. 我上周去了一次开放日,但那个公寓太小了。
3. Full house(满座):指演出、比赛或活动场所座位全部卖出或被占满。
The concert was a full house. I'm glad we got tickets early. 音乐会座无虚席。我很高兴我们早早买了票。
备注:concert 可以表示演奏会,音乐会,演唱会都可以;I'm glad + 句子,表示我对...很开心很满意。
4. White House(白宫):美国总统的官邸和办公地点。
e.g. The president is giving a press conference at the White House later today.总统今天晚些时候要在白宫举行新闻发布会。
备注:give a press conference 举行新闻发布会;press conference 新闻发布会
5. Household(家庭):指同居的家庭成员,也可以指家庭的日常事务和管理。
e.g. I’m responsible for managing the household finances and paying the bills. 我负责管理家庭财务和支付账单。
备注:be responsible /rɪˈspɒnsəbl/ for 对...负责; pay the bills 支付账单
