World on track to breach a critical warming threshold in the next five years

The world is now likely to breach a key climate threshold for the first time within the next five years, according to the World Meteorological Organization, due to a combination of heat-trapping pollution and a looming El Niño.

It has become more popular for Americans to take their dogs to restaurants, and a US regulator has issued new guidelines to ease restrictions. Yelp searches for businesses using the "dogs allowed” filter jumped 58 percent between May 1, 2021, and May 1, 2023.
