中国女性的互联网之路
How about the road of internet for Chinese women? Let's take a look. Today is international women's day. This year’s theme is Digitall: Innovation and technology for gender equality. Although women account for nearly half of the global population, gender gaps seem to be everywhere including an internet usage. Statistics show that there were 259 million more men than women using the internet in 2022. The gender gap is more concerning in some low income countries where the share of female internet usage is just 21 percent compared with 32 percent for male usage.
今天是国际妇女节。今年国际妇女节主题是数字包容:创新和技术推动性别平等。虽然女性占世界人口近一半,但性别差距似乎无处不在,包括在互联网的使用上。据统计,全球使用互联网的女性比男性少2.59亿人。这种性别差距在一些低收入国家更令人担忧。使用互联网的女性比例仅为21%,男性则有32%。
China officially gained access to the internet in 1994. After nearly 30 years of development, China has become the largest internet market in the world. The number of internet users in China has reached 1.07 billion as of December 2022 with an internet penetration rate of 75.6 percent. In terms of gender structure, as of June 2022, the-male-to-female ratio of Chinese netizens was 51.7:48.3. In Jan, 2022, female users registered rapid growth (with an increase of more than 50 million year-on-year) in field such as e-commerce, online bank online payment, map navigation, local life and short video. Their potential for online consumption has continued to be released. For example in e-commerce, online bank and online payment, female users contribute 88.7 percent, 80.1 percent and 87.8 percent respectively to net growth.
中国1994年正式接入互联网。经过近30年的发展,中国已是全球第一大互联网市场。截至2022年12月,中国网民规模为10.67亿,互联网普及率达75.6%。从性别结构来看,截至2022年6月,中国网民男女比例为51.7:48.3。2022年1月,女性用户增长较快(同比增长5000万以上),如综合电商、网上银行、支付结算、地图导航、本地生活、短视频等领域。其中,女性用户线上消费潜力不断释放。以综合电商、网上银行、支付结算为例,净增量贡献率分别达到88.7%、80.1%、87.8%。
Women account for 55 percent of China's internet entrepreneurs. A growing number of women appeared in new businesses such as livestreaming and e-commerce. In general, in technology and internet sectors, a majority of women work in human resources, public relations and operations. It is noteworthy that more female talents appear in some traditionally male-dominated occupations such as internet technology and R&D. In 2021 the share of women working in internet/digital technology R&D rose to 19.5 percent up 1.6 percentage points year-on-year. China is paying high attention to female’s participation and utilization in information technology. The development of the digital economy can help guarantee women's employment rights and realize self fulfillment, narrow the gender gap between developed and undeveloped regions, cities and rural areas and help more women obtain deserve development opportunities.
中国互联网领域创业者中,女性约为55%。直播带货、电商运营……新业态群体中,女性数量日渐增多。总的来说,在科技互联网行业,多数女性从事的工作集中在人力资源、公关和运营。值得关注的是,在互联网技术、研发类等传统印象中“男性主导”的岗位上出现了更多女性身影。2021年,互联网/数字技术研发类岗位的从业者中,女性比例上升至19.5%,同比增长1.6个百分点。女性比例上升至19.5%,同比提高1.6个百分点。中国高度重视女性对信息技术的参与和利用。数字经济发展有助于保障女性就业权利、自我价值实现、缩小发达与欠发达地区、城市与农村之间的性别权利差距,帮助更多女性群体获得应有的发展机会。
