Once upon a time in a village ,there was a small river .One day ,a young man caught a snake in the river. It had nine scales on its tail .When the man wanted to make money by selling the snake ,he saw it’s clear eyes .”Go back to your home!” He touched it‘s beautiful scales and put it in the water.
从前在一个村庄里，有一条小河。有一天，一个年轻人在河里抓住了一条蛇。它的尾巴上有九个鳞片。当男人想通过卖蛇赚钱时，他看到它清澈的眼睛。“回家吧！”他摸了摸它美丽的鳞片，把它放在水里。
Just then, those scales came off!The snake became a dragon .It was a dragon in the heavens. “ I did a wrong thing the, Jade emperor put nine locks on my tail. He told me that only kind men could open the locks .” Then the dragon was sent to earth and turned into a snake. The scales were the locks. They were touched and opened by the young man.To thank him, the dragon stayed in the river. It danced day and night. Clean water came out of its mouth. By and by the river got bigger. That made the village a nice place to live .People were all very happy.
就在这时，那些鳞片脱落了！蛇变成了一条龙。那是天上的一条龙。“我做错了事，玉皇大帝，给我的尾巴加上了九把锁。他告诉我，只有善良的人才能打开锁。”然后龙被送到凡间，变成了一条蛇。那九把锁变成了九片鳞。年轻人无意的触摸打开了龙身上的枷锁。为了感谢那位年轻人，龙留在了河里。它日夜不停地舞动。吐出干净的水来。渐渐地，小河成为了宽阔的大河。自此，村子风调雨顺。村民们过上了幸福的生活。
The Jade emperor knew what the dragon did for those people. So he forgave it and called it back to the heavens one day. That day became the Dragon Boat Festival. To remember the dragon, people made dragon boats and held races on the river.
玉皇大帝知道龙为那些人做了什么。所以他原谅了它，有一天把它叫回了天堂。龙升天的那天被定为端午节。为了纪念那条天龙，人们制作龙舟，并在河上举行龙舟赛。
