Don't aim for perfection, aim for success.


Obsessing about making mistakes or letting others down or holding yourself to impossibly high standards can have negative consequences. Perfectionism is linked to burnout as well as depression, anxiety, and even mortality. Perfectionism is seen as a trait that enhances the chances to succeed, but it results in regrets.


Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life. Confronting your fears and allowing yourself the right to be human can, paradoxically, make you a happier and more productive person. Remember that fear always lurks behind perfectionism. Aim for excellence, not perfection. Reward yourself for your effort. Focus on what you have already achieved. Don't feel that you aren't good enough.
