【解释】

An IOU is a written promise that you will pay back some money that you have borrowed. IOU is an abbreviation for "I owe you."

【例句】

Here's an IOU for the money you lent me. I'll pay you back on Monday.

这是你借给我钱的欠条。我周一就还你。

Will you take my IOU?

— Yeah, I’m happy with IOUs.
