It was Halloween night,

那是一个在万圣节前夕的晚上，

and Dragon was very excited.

小龙兴奋极了。

He had been invited to a Halloween costume party.

他被邀请参加一个万圣节化装舞会。

Dragon tried to think of a scary costume to wear.

小龙一直在想穿什么样的恐怖服装去舞会，

Dragon could not decide whether to be a witch,

小龙想扮巫师，

a vampire, or a mummy.

又想扮吸血鬼，还想扮木乃伊。

He thought and thought, and scratched his big head.

他想呀想啊，边想边挠他的大脑袋。

"One costume would be very scary,"said Dragon,

“一套服装可能就会很吓人了，”小龙说，

"but three costumes would be very,very,VERY scary!"

“如果是三套服装肯定非常超级无敌吓人！”

First, Dragon put on a witch's hat and nose.

首先，小龙把女巫的帽子和鼻子戴到头上。

"I feel scary already," said Dragon.

“我已经感觉到自己很吓人了，”小龙说。

Next, Dragon put on a vampire's cape and teeth.

接着，小龙把吸血鬼的披肩和假牙穿戴了起来。

Dragon could not talk very well with vampire teeth in his mouth.

有假牙在嘴里，小龙话都说不清楚。

"Flmmm flmmm flbm mmm fmm," said Dragon.

“呼呼呼嗯呼，”小龙又在说着什么。

Finally,Dragon wrapped himself up just like a mummy.

最后，小龙把自己包裹得像木乃伊一样。

Dragon hoped his costume would not be too scary.

小龙开始担心自己的服装会不会太吓人了。

Dragon walked through the woods

小龙穿过森林，

to the big costume party.

走向盛大的化妆舞会。

Suddenly the wind began to blow.

忽然，风吹了起来。

"FLASH!" went the lightning.

“哗！”闪电来了。

"BOOM!"  went the thunder.

“砰！”雷也打起来了。

And DNOWN came the rain.

然后雨哗啦啦地下起来了。

When Dragon finally got to the party,

等到小龙终于抵达派对现场的时候，

he was soaking wet,

他整个龙都湿透了，

and his costume was ruined.

他的造型也毁掉了。

All of the animals began to laugh.

现场所有的动物们都开始大笑。

"Look at Dragon ,"they cried.

“看这只龙呀，”他们大叫。

"Oh, what a silly costume!"

“啊，好傻的造型啊！”

The animals laughed and laughed,

动物们笑个不停，

and Dragon felt terrible.

小龙难受极了。

He walked over to a bench in the corner

他走到角落里的长椅边，

and sat down next to a big pumpkin.

坐在一个大南瓜旁。

Suddenly, the bench broke,

忽然，椅子断了，

and the pumpkin flipped high into the air.

南瓜被抛到了空中。

SPLAT!

啪嗒!

Dragon was very dizzy.

小龙感觉晕乎乎的。

He stumbled around the room

他在房间里摇来晃去，

covered with slimy orange pumpkin goop.

被粘稠的橙色南瓜浆罩住了。

When the animals saw Dragon,

当其他动物们再看他的时候，

they screamed in terror.

他们被吓得尖叫起来。

"Eek! It's a monster!"cried the duck,

“唷！那是个大怪物！”鸭子大叫，

who jumped into the pig's arms.

跳进了猪怀抱里。

"Oh,dear! Oh, dear!" cried the pig,

“哦，我的天啊！哦，我的天啊！”猪也大叫起来，

who jumped into the hippo's arms.

跳进了河马的怀抱里。

"Help!Help!Help!"cried the hippo,

“救命啊！救命啊！救命啊！”河马叫起来，

who jumped into the hamster's arms.

跳进了仓鼠的怀抱里。

Finally, Dragon pulled the pumpkin off his head.

最后，小龙把南瓜从他的脑袋上拿了下来。

"I am not a monster," said Dragon.

“我不是怪物，”小龙说。

"I am only Dragon."

“我是小龙啊。”

The animals were very relieved,

动物们都大大地松了一口气，

and soon everyone felt much better.

很快大家都感觉好多了。

Well...almost everyone.

好吧...也不是每一个。
