1. Black Tea
Black tea is withered, fully oxidized and dried. Black tea commonly yields a hearty, amber-colored brew. Some of the most popular types of black teas are breakfast teas (e.g. English Breakfast, Irish Breakfast), Assam, Earl Grey, and Darjeeling. It has the most caffeine of all the different tea types.
2. Green Tea
Green tea is the most popular tea globally. It’s unoxidized and has less caffeine than black tea. In China, people often pan-fry leaves, which creates a duller green color. In Japan, people will typically steam them and achieve a brighter green shade.
3. Chai Tea
Chai tea is black tea brewed with warm milk, sugar, and aromatic spices like ginger and cinnamon. Like many black teas, it contains caffeine.
