Eldorado

《黄金乐土》

Gaily bedight,

赫赫铠饰，

A gallant knight,

桓桓骑士。

In sunshine and in shadow,

晴朗阴晦路无阻，

Had journeyed long,

长途跋涉，

Singing a song,

慷慨以歌，

In search of Eldorado.

为寻彼黄金乐土。

But he grew old-

铮铮无惧，

This knight so bold-

无奈老去。

And o'er his heart a shadow

纵踏遍天下寻觅，

Fell as he found

黄金乐土

No spot of ground

不知何处。

That looked like Eldorado.

阴翳深锁心惨凄。

And, as his strength

伐道征远，

Failed him at length,

气终奄奄。

He met a pilgrim shadow-

路遇阴翳暂借问，

"Shadow," said he,

“闻彼乐土，

"Where can it be-

难觅其途。

This land of Eldorado?"

敢问何处得其门？”

"Over the Mountains

“寻彼乐土！

Of the Moon,

寒山冷月，

Down the Valley of the Shadow,

但振鞭策马直前，

Ride, boldly ride,"

层层攀越，”

The shade replied-

阴翳答复，

"If you seek for Eldorado!"

“死荫低谷必自现。”
