509 - A blessing in disguise 2 化了妆的祝福2

Canadians are known for being very friendly, so people, including us, always greet each other on hiking trails. A lady jogger approached us and we naturally said “hi” to her. “Hi!” she replied. But what she said next was exactly what I was afraid of.  

J: Jogger, M:Me

J: There’s a bear about 5 minutes walk from here.

M: What? Really?

J: Yeah. Some people are walking slowly toward the bear. They said it’s okay. But I thought I’d stay away from it.

M: Thanks for telling us. Enjoy your run!

As the jogger dashed away from us, my friend and I almost instantaneously said, “Let’s find another way to go back.” In order to get on the big road, we’d have to trespass some of the residential houses. We knew trespassing was illegal, but we weren’t left with any other choices.  Fortunately, no one came to stop us.

It turned out this seemingly dangerous situation was a blessing in disguise. We came across a beautiful waterfall which was just off the big road. Alta Lake trail was beautiful enough, this bonus waterfall just made our hiking even more memorable.
