A total of 1.79 million people in Central China's Hunan province have been affected by heavy rain, which has lashed the province since June 1, according to local authorities. Ten people have been killed, and three remain missing as of Wednesday, said Li Dajian, an official from the provincial flood control and drought relief headquarters. Over 2,700 houses have collapsed or been seriously damaged, and around 286,000 people have been evacuated, Li said. 
6月1日以来，湖南省遭遇持续强降雨过程。据湖南省防汛抗旱指挥部秘书长李大剑介绍，截至6月8日，这一轮强降雨导致湖南179万人受灾，因灾死亡10人、失联3人，倒塌和严重损坏房屋超过2700间，紧急转移群众28.6万人次。

The province launched an emergency response for disaster relief on June 2 and has delivered tents, foldable beds and other supplies to affected areas. Temporary relief funds and supplies have also been issued to mitigate the impact of the rain.
湖南已于6月2日启动省级自然灾害救助应急响应，向受灾地区下拨帐篷、折叠床等救灾物资。受灾地区民政部门迅速发放临时救助资金和物资，尽力确保受灾群众基本生活不受大的影响。

More environmental cases taken up by courts
去年全国法院审结环境资源一审案件超26万件

Chinese courts nationwide concluded 265,341 environmental and resource cases in 2021, up 4.76 percent year-on-year, according to a report released by the Supreme People's Court on Sunday, which was World Environment Day. By the end of last year, 2,149 specialized judicial organs for environmental and resource cases had been established across the country, according to the report.  
6月5日是世界环境日，最高人民法院发布《中国环境资源审判（2021）》。《报告》显示，2021年，全国法院审结环境资源一审案件265341件，同比上升4.76%。截至2021年底，全国共设立环境资源专门审判机构和审判组织2149个。

World Bank downgrades global growth forecast to 2.9%

This raises the risk of stagflation, with potentially harmful consequences for middle- and low-income economies alike, according to the report.

World's biggest four-day work week test begins
英国开始试行四天工作制

Thousands of UK workers are starting a four-day work week from Monday with no cut to their pay, in the largest trial of its kind. The test, which will last for six months, involves 3,300 workers spanning 70 companies, ranging from providers of financial services to a fish-and-chip restaurant.

During the program, workers receive 100% of their pay for working only 80% of their usual week, in exchange for promising to maintain 100% of their productivity. The program is being run by not-for-profit 4 Day Week Global, the think tank Autonomy, and the 4 Day Week UK Campaign, in partnership with researchers from Cambridge University, Oxford University and Boston College.
