The bell rang.  
铃声响了。
She was not at school.  
她不在学校。
She was still at home.  
她还在家里。
She was in bed sleeping.  
她在床上睡觉。
She stayed up late with her friends last night.  
昨晚她和朋友们熬夜了。
They watched movies.  
他们看电影。
Her school called her parents:  
学校给她父母打了电话：
"Your child did not go to school."  
“你的孩子没去上学。”
Mom was surprised.  
妈妈很惊讶。
She was upset.  
她很生气。
She was at work.  
她在上班。
She went back home.  
她回了家。
She slammed through the door.  
她猛地推开门。
"Wake up!" she yelled at her daughter.  
“醒醒！”她对女儿喊道。
"You are late to school," mom said.  
“你上学迟到了，”妈妈说。
She got up from bed.  
她从床上起来。
She changed quickly.  
她迅速换好衣服。
She was scared of her mom.  
她害怕妈妈。
She knew she was serious.  
她知道妈妈是认真的。
Mom did not fool around.  
妈妈从不马虎。
She drove her to school.  
她开车送她去学校。
"Do not be late to school again," Mom said.

"Okay, mom," she said.

She was still sleepy.
