I editbooks and I'm currently working on a Korean novel that it's being translatedinto English. Wait, are you writing two novels? So I'm writing my own novel andthen I'm editing a novel for work, okay?

Because yes, my day job is a as an editorand then my life project project. Yeah. My passion project I guess is my novel.It's about a Korean girl who grows up in Queens flushing Queens. Y'all fromflushing queens. Hello, Tom. Yes, that's where I grew up. Yeah, it's about thislittle girl who grows up in Flushing Queens and then one morning, she wakes upand both of her.

Parents are gone and she goes to churchlooking for them. And yeah. How far along are you? I've been working on thissince undergrad. So I guess it's been eight years. Wow. I mean, on and off, Iworked on a chunk of it in grad school, but so it's like fictional but basedon?

Yes, it's auto Christian. Okay, yeah, it'spretty much my life story. But for the sake of selling it, it's got to be anovel in the street, New York City. We've I think that's so fitting because Iactually ask you. If, for today's episode we could kind of share about ourexperiences growing up as a Korean American like you growing up in Queens andand I grew up in Oregon and LA I guess so.

Yeah. Like our experiences we're verydifferent problem. If this is something that I actually get asked a lot likesurprisingly, I think after dating the Korean American, experience is like, themost asked questions that's so interesting, right? I was really, yeah, mostpeople who are asking, they want to know just like our experience growing upand what that was like, how we navigated it was it I think I think people arejust like looking for a connection you know, and like wanting to relate andfeel like, oh I'm not alone in this.

And I think that's kind of the point ofthis podcast too. I realized there's a lot of people are just looking forsomeone to like relate to them you know and kind of feel heard and understand.I feel like growing up I was always looking for that too. Hmm.
