Campaign against women, child trafficking
公安部：开展打击拐卖妇女儿童行动

A special campaign has been launched nationwide to crack down on the trafficking of women and children. It will be carried out from March 1 to Dec 31, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Public Security. The campaign will focus on women and children of unknown origin, in particular vagrants and beggars, women and children with mental health issues or those who are hearing or speech impaired, to ensure they were not trafficked. 
公安部决定，自3月1日起至12月31日开展打击拐卖妇女儿童犯罪专项行动。公安部要求，要集中摸排一批线索，特别是对来历不明的流浪乞讨、智力障碍、精神疾病、聋哑残疾等妇女儿童要全面摸排，确保底数清、情况明。

The ministry is proposing to set up a mechanism that makes it easier for people to expose or offer clues relating to human trafficking or abductions. It also asks for DNA and other information of people who are believed to have been abducted and those claiming to be their relatives to be collected as soon as possible for matching.
该部门建议要建立健全举报机制，广泛发动群众揭发检举涉拐线索。对疑似被拐人员和寻亲人员，要第一时间采集DNA等信息，加强信息研判。

Regulation of pop-up notifications
国家网信办规范弹窗推送新闻

China's cyberspace watchdog published a draft regulation on Wednesday concerning pop-up windows and notification services on internet platforms, with the aim of soliciting public opinions. Providers of internet services will not be allowed to push notifications containing content involving celebrity gossip or personal privacy, extravagant displays of wealth and the appreciation of ugliness, according to the draft regulation from the Cyberspace Administration of China.
国家互联网信息办公室3月2日公布《互联网弹窗信息推送服务管理规定（征求意见稿）》，并向社会公开征求意见。根据征求意见稿，互联网弹窗信息推送服务不得推送《网络信息内容生态治理规定》明确的违法和不良信息，特别是恶意炒作娱乐八卦、绯闻隐私、奢靡炫富、审丑扮丑等违背公序良俗内容。

In providing news-alert services, the original meaning and content of the titles should not be distorted or falsified, it says. Misuse of algorithms and promoting information that is harmful to minors will also be banned by the new regulation. 
征求意见稿指出，弹窗推送新闻信息，不得歪曲、篡改标题原意和内容。不得滥用算法，向未成年用户推送可能影响其身心健康的信息。

Beijing sees decrease in permanent resident population
北京市常住人口2188万余人

The number of permanent residents in Beijing stood at 21.886 million at the end of 2021, 4,000 less than at the end of 2020, said the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics. The urban population in Beijing was about 19.161 million, accounting for 87.5 percent of the capital's total permanent population. Beijing's GDP reached 4.03 trillion yuan in 2021, and the city's per capita GDP was 184,000 yuan, said the bureau.
北京市统计局表示，2021年末北京全市常住人口2188.6万人，比2020年末减少0.4万人。其中，城镇人口1916.1万人，占常住人口的比重为87.5%。初步核算，北京市2021全年实现地区生产总值约4.03万亿元。按常住人口计算，北京全市人均地区生产总值为18.4万元。

Student implants Bluetooth device to cheat

A medical student in India was recently caught cheating on his graduation exam with a Bluetooth device embedded in his inner ear to avoid detection. On Feb 21, 78 medical students took part in the final MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) exam at the Mahatma Gandhi Medical College in India. One of them, however, was more desperate to pass than the rest. To increase his chances, the man apparently turned to cheating, getting a Bluetooth device surgically implanted in his ear. 
近日印度一名医学生在毕业考试中作弊被抓，他将蓝牙设备植入耳内以避免被发现。2月21日，印度圣雄甘地医学院的78名医学生参加了临床医学学士期末考试。然而，相比其他人，有位考生更迫切希望通过考试。这名男子通过外科手术将蓝牙设备植入耳内，试图依靠作弊通过考试。

He was discovered during a surprise check before the exam when proctors frisked him and found a phone hidden in the inside pocket of his trousers connected to a Bluetooth device. Officials searched for the Bluetooth attachment but could not find it, until the student admitted under questioning that he had paid an ear, nose and throat surgeon to implant the skin-colored device.
