A few months later, in Andy’s new home… A cheery wreath hung on the frontdoor. Lights twinkled around the frosty picture window.

几个月后，在安弟的新家……门口挂着欢快的花环，落地窗上结满了霜花，彩灯闪烁。

Inside the warm and cozy house, Andy’s family gathered around a beautifullydecorated Christmas tree.

在温暖惬意的房间里，安弟一家围坐在装饰一新的圣诞树旁。

Though it was early in the morning, Andy was wide awake, poking andprodding the presents beneath the tree. “Which one can I open first?” he askedhis mom.

尽管天色尚早，安弟却早已睡意全无，不时戳戳碰碰圣诞树下的礼物。“我先打开哪一个呢？”安弟问他的妈妈。

“Let’s let Molly open one,” Mrs. Davis replied.

“让莫莉打开一个吧，”戴维斯夫人说。

As Andy handed his sister a present, one of the bulbs on the Christmastree moved a quarter of an inch, and a small Green Army Man peeked out at theDavis family with his tiny green binoculars.

Behind him, several soldiers clung to silver tinsel as they climbed intothe tree.

Another soldier reached for a knob on the baby monitor that was wedgedbetween some sturdy branches.

Buzz leaned forward from his spot on Andy’s bed. Beside the monitor, Hammcalled out, “Hey, heads up, everyone! It’s showtime!”

Andy’s toys chattered excitedly as theygathered on the floor below.

安弟的玩具们聚到了地板上，兴奋地喋喋不休。

“Whoa! It’s time!” said Rex. The toys ran toward the monitor.

“哇！到时间了！”抱抱龙说道。玩具们跑向了监听器。

Woody was about to follow when a shepherd’s crook yanked him backward.

胡迪刚想跟上，一根牧羊拐杖从后面勾住了他。

Bo Peep smiled at the sheriff and pointed up to a shelf, where her sheepdangled sprigs of mistletoe above the two dolls’ heads.

宝贝冲警长甜甜地一笑，指了指上面的一个架子，她的绵羊从上面抛下了几丛槲寄生，正垂在他俩头上。

“Say,” Woody began. “Isn’t that mistletoe?”

“嘿，”胡迪说，“那不是槲寄生吗？”

Bo Peep nodded. Then she flung her arms around Woody and dipped himbackward for a big oldfashioned kiss.

宝贝点了点头，张开双臂，抱住了胡迪，把他往后一仰，给了他传统而深情的一吻。

The rest of the toys clustered below the monitor in anticipation. Thefear they had felt the day of Andy’sbirthday party was long gone.

其他玩具们聚在监听器下，满心期待。安弟过生日时的担心早就没有了。

“Quiet, everyone!” Buzz calledout. The toys settled down to listen to Sarge’s report.

“安静，大家安静！”巴斯叫道。玩具们静了下来，听队长汇报。

“Molly’s first present is… Mrs. Potato Head. Repeat: Mrs. Potato Head.”

“莫莉打开的第一件礼物是……蛋头太太。重复一下：是蛋头太太。”

Hamm laughed, slapping Mr. Potato Head on the back. “Way to go, Idaho!”

火腿大笑，拍了一下蛋头先生的后背，祝贺道：“加油，伙计！”

“Gee,” Mr. Potato Head said. “I better shave.” He whipped off his plasticmustache piece and grinned.

“太棒了，”蛋头先生说，“我最好去刮刮胡子了。”说着，他扯下了塑料胡须，开心地笑了。

Woody climbed onto the bed and sat down beside Buzz. The spaceman noddedhello, then stifled a grin when he saw the lipstick smears all over Woody’s face.

胡迪爬到床上，坐在了巴斯身边，巴斯向他点头问好。巴斯看到胡迪满脸的口红印迹，憋着没笑出声来。

“Come in, Frankincense,” cameSarge’s voice again. “Andy isnow opening his first present—”

“乳香，收到请回答，”队长的声音再次传了过来。“安弟正在打开自己的第一件礼物——”

Static made his voice difficult to understand. Buzz banged on the side ofthe monitor sharply.

静电干扰声让大家听不清他的声音。巴斯用力拍了一下监听器。

“Buzz Lightyear,” Woody said,tipping his cowboy hat back on his head. “You’re not worried, are you?”

“巴斯光年，”胡迪把牛仔帽向后一推，问道，“你该不会紧张了吧？”

“Me? No, no, no, no,” Buzz said.Then he looked up anxiously. “Are you?”

“我？不，不，我不紧张。”巴斯说着，抬头急切地看看胡迪，反问道：“你呢？”

Woody slung his arm around his best friend’s shoulders and chuckled. “Now, Buzz, whatcould Andy possibly get that is worse than you?”

胡迪将胳膊挎在好朋友的肩膀上，咯咯一笑：“哦，巴斯，安弟还能有一个比你还糟糕的礼物吗？”

Suddenly, Andy gave an excited shout from downstairs.

突然，安弟在楼下兴奋地喊出声来。监听器里传来小狗的叫声。“汪！汪！汪！”

Buzz and Woody stared at each other, their smiles dropping intoopen-mouthed shock as they heard yapping coming through the monitor.

巴斯和胡迪对视了一眼，脸上的笑容消失不见，吃惊地张大了嘴巴。

Bark-bark-bark! Oh, no! There was just one thing worse than a brand-newtoy: a brand-new puppy!
