流星尚未陨逝,我们已厌倦了它的闪耀;
露湿的百合、玫瑰,睡梦里逸出一丝困倦;
也别梦那蓝星的幽光在露滴中低徊;
在那里时光会遗忘我们,悲哀不再来临;
I WOULD that we were, my beloved, white birds on the foamof the sea!
We tired of the flame of the meteor, before it can fade andflee;
And the flame of the blue star of twilight, hung low on the rimof the sky, Has awakened in our hearts, my beloved, a sadness that may not die.
A weariness comes from those dreamers, dew-dabbled, thelily and rose;
Ah, dream not of them, my beloved, the flame of the meteor thatgoes, Or the flame of the blue star that lingers hung low in the fall of thedew:
For I would we were changed to white birds on the wanderingfoam: I and you!
I am haunted by numberless islands, and many a Danaanshore,
Where Time would surely forget us, and Sorrow come near us nomore;
Soon far from the rose and the lily, and fret of the flameswould we be,
Were we only white birds, my beloved, buoyed out on the foam ofthe sea!
