China sees 251M Spring Festival trips
春节假期国内游出游2.51亿人次

China has seen around 251 million domestic trips during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday starting from Jan 31, figures from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism showed. This year's domestic trips declined by 2% year on year, with nearly 289.2 billion yuan generated in domestic tourism revenue. No major accidents occurred in the culture and tourism sector, and the market has remained stable and orderly during the holiday, the ministry said. 
文化和旅游部发布的数据显示，2022年春节假期7天，全国国内旅游出游2.51亿人次，同比减少2%；实现国内旅游收入2892亿元。全国文化和旅游系统未发生重特大安全事故，假日市场总体安全平稳有序。

China beat S. Korea in Women's Asian Cup final
中国女足夺亚洲杯冠军

China rallied from 0-2 down to beat South Korea 3-2 in the AFC Women's Asian Cup final at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday. South Korea took the upper hand in the 27th minute as Choe Yu-ri slotted home Lee Geum-min's pass from the center of the box. Ji So-Yun converted the penalty in the stoppage time of the first half to make it 2-0 for South Korea after Yao Lingwei's handball in the box was confirmed by the VAR.

Xiao Yuyi scored on Wang Shanshan's through ball in the 93rd minute to complete the incredible comeback for China, who lifted the trophy for the ninth time.

Beijing 2022 mascot going viral

Bing Dwen Dwen, the mascot of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, has won hearts of millions after the Winter Olympics opened on Friday, becoming a favorite of international athletes, media and members of the public. Merchandise featuring the mascot, such as keychains and dolls, has already sold out at officially licensed online retailers and many physical shops and "Bing Dwen Dwen sold out" has become a trending topic on Sina Weibo, with many netizens expressed their wish to own at least one Bing Dwen Dwen. 
自2月4日北京冬奥会开幕以来，冬奥会吉祥物冰墩墩已成为全球运动员、媒体和公众心目中的顶流明星。从线上的冬奥会官方旗舰店到线下的许多实体店，冰墩墩相关的钥匙扣和毛绒玩具等周边商品均已售罄，"冰墩墩卖断货了"成为新浪微博热搜话题，不少网友强烈要求实现"一户一墩"。

Zhao Weidong, spokesman for the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, said at a news conference on Sunday that the shortage of supply was partly because many workers and factories were on the Chinese New Year holiday and could not cope with the sudden burst of demand. "We're coordinating with relevant departments to increase the supply of Bing Dwen Dwen," he said, adding it also reflected the great attention the ongoing Games are attracting.
北京冬奥组委新闻发言人赵卫东2月6日在记者会上表示，因为春节假期的原因，一些工厂工人正在休假，是冰墩墩供应不足的部分原因。"我们也正在加大协调相关方面，加大对冰墩墩的供应。" 赵卫东还表示，冰墩墩"一墩难求"从一个侧面反映了我们北京冬奥会的热度。

Ottawa declares state of emergency
渥太华因抗议活动进入紧急状态

Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson on Sunday declared a state of emergency to deal with a nine-day protest that has disrupted the core of the Canadian capital. The declaration "reflects the serious danger and threat to the safety and security of residents posed by the ongoing demonstrations and highlights the need for support from other jurisdictions and levels of government," a statement issued by the city read. 
加拿大首都渥太华市市长吉姆•沃森2月6日宣布该市进入紧急状态。已持续9天的抗议活动导致渥太华核心区域瘫痪。渥太华市政府发布的声明称，宣布进入紧急状态表明当前的示威活动对当地居民的安全和治安造成严重威胁，需要执法机构和各级政府提供支持。

On Saturday, about 5,000 people and 1,000 tractor-trailers and personal vehicles squeezed into downtown Ottawa to join in on the second week of a protest, which was initially intended to voice opposition to the Canadian government's vaccine requirement for truckers crossing the Canada-United States border.
