Two-time world bronze medalist Jin Boyang of China said it is understandable that an Olympicdebutantmay tumble after 19-year-old Zhu Yi delivered an error-riddled performance in the figure skating women’s singles short program yesterday.

在6日上午进行的北京冬奥会花样滑冰团体赛女子单人滑短节目比赛中，19岁的中国选手朱易出现重大失误。两届世锦赛铜牌得主金博洋表示，非常理解朱易首次参加冬奥会承受的巨大压力。

"Zhu is a hardworking woman and shouldn’t be blamed for her first performance on the Olympic stage, good or bad," said Jin, who finished fourth in the men’s singles figure skating at Pyeongchang 2018.

“朱易一直都非常努力。”金博洋说。他表示无论成绩好坏，大家都不应该责怪朱易，毕竟这是她第一次参加冬奥会。2018年平昌冬奥会上，金博洋在花样滑冰男子单人滑比赛中获得第四。

The 24-year-old, who helped China qualify for the team event for the first time in history with a sixth-place finish in the men's short program on Friday, delivered four well-executed jumps out of seven total and finished fourth in yesterday's free skate with 155.04 points.

2月4日，24岁的金博洋第一次参加冬奥会花样滑冰团体赛，在男子单人滑短节目比赛中排名第六。2月6日，他在男单自由滑比赛中，完美地完成了7个跳跃动作中的4个，以155.04分位居第四。

Zhu, China's sole women’s singles competitor, finished last among 10.

朱易则在女单短节目比赛中排名全部10名选手的最后一位。

Skating to The Rolling Stones' Paint It Black, she stumbled during her first combination—a triple flip-triple toeloop jump—bumping into the wall. She did well in the subsequent double axel but totally missed her third jump, a triple loop.

伴随着滚石乐队名曲《Paint It Black》的乐曲，朱易的开场动作后内点冰三周跳接后外点冰三周跳出现失误，直接撞向了围挡。虽然接下来的阿克塞尔两周半顺利完成，但第三个跳跃动作后外结环三周跳跳空了。

She cried after she earned the lowest technical score of 22.34 points, bringing her total to 47.03 and adding just 1 point to the country’s total score.

朱易在得知分数后泣不成声，她的技术动作分全场最低，只有22.34分。最终朱易得到了47.03分，只为中国队拿到1分。

"I counted over and over again last night to see how many points I needed to collect today to help my team advance," Zhu said, bursting into tears.

当记者问她有没有计算过自己拿多少分能帮助中国队晋级自由滑比赛时，朱易瞬间泪目，哽咽起来：“我昨天一直在算，算了好几遍……”

"Before I started, I guess I just put a lot of pressure on myself because I know everybody in China was pretty surprised with the selection for women, and I just really wanted to show them what I was able to do. But unfortunately, I didn't," she said.

由于大家对朱易入选花滑女单感到十分意外，朱易表示：“自己的压力有点大，（我的）女单水平没那么高，但我还是站在这。我很想向大家展现我的能力，但很遗憾我没有做到。”

"The first combination was so fast. I don't even remember what happened. But when I landed the flip, it was nice, and I felt like I totally pulled it off. But, unfortunately, that didn't happen.”

“这一切发生得太快了，我甚至不记得当时发生了什么。当时第一个跳跃落地还不错，我以为连接的动作能成功，但没想到失败了。”

"I was very confident before I even started on the ice because (the loop) has been no problem during practices. I guess because I missed the first jump, I was just kind of fragile and under a lot of pressure to land that last jump," she explained.

朱易解释道：“第一个连跳失误后，我的压力很大。这也影响了我的第三跳，之前在训练时，这个动作是没有问题的。”

"I just felt very sad and upset. I want to say sorry to my teammates that I couldn’t do it better and help them during this team event. But I’m very grateful to have them and share with them."

“没有为团队做出贡献，我觉得很难过。”朱易表示很对不起队友，但非常感激能和他们在一起并肩作战。

Zhu was born to Chinese parents in the US city of Los Angeles, California. She won the women’s title in the novice division of the 2018 United States Figure Skating Championships in San Jose and became anaturalizedChinese citizen the following year.

朱易生于美国加利福尼亚，曾在美国圣何塞获得2018年全美花样滑冰锦标赛新人组女子单人滑冠军。2019年，她加入中国籍，开始代表中国参加国际比赛。

Jin said he believed Zhu wasgrappling with too much stress. "I fully understand her position. I have been there, too," he said.

对于朱易在比赛中出现的失误，金博洋颇有些感同身受。他表示朱易承受着巨大的压力，自己非常理解她的处境，他也曾经历过这些。

"She's under huge pressure as China’s last performer in the team event short program and the sole skater in (China's) women's figure skating, especially after her selection over two other women.

金博洋表示，特别是在奥运选拔赛中击败了陈虹伊和林姗之后，朱易作为中国花滑团体赛第一阶段最后一个出场的选手，还要独自一人代表中国队参与花样滑冰女子单人滑的项目，“其实她的压力非常大”。

"The Olympic Winter Games is the opportunity of a lifetime for every competitor. Hopefully, we can gain strength from the fact that we’vegone all outandmade history and leave the frustration of past errors behind us. The show must go on."

冬奥会对于每位运动员来说都是一次千载难逢的机会。金博洋表示，希望大家都能意识到自己已经全力以赴、创造历史，并从中获取力量，不再为过去的失误而遗憾，“在之后的比赛中展现出最好的自己”。

China eventually edged into the second phase of the free skating team event with 22 points in total thanks to twotime world title-winning pair Sui Wenjing’s and Han Cong’s top-finish performance.

由于两届世锦赛冠军隋文静/韩聪在双人滑短节目中的高超表现，2月6日上午，中国队以22分的成绩名列第五，首次晋级团体赛第二阶段争夺。

The country was in third place on Friday after the men's, pairs short programs and the ice dancing rhythm dance. Following the men’s free skate, China ranked fifth among five finalists.

ROC was in the lead with 45 points, followed by the US with 42, Japan with 39 and Canada with 30. Georgia, which had 22 points, was narrowly pushed to sixth place due to fewer leading performances in each discipline.

The figure skating competitions at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games are set to see the first gold medal in team events today with the women's and pairs free skate and the ice dancing free dance team event.
