The veterans of the war in Afghanistan are still alive, while we are slowly wasting away.

阿富汗战争的退役军人依然活着，我们却逐渐憔悴。

I have written a poem about this: Sadness fills me.

我对此写了一首, 心里充满悲怅。

Nostalgia and anguish.

满满的乡愁与苦痛。

Like a bullet in the temple.

Nothing can ever stop.

The mother prays in secret to God.

母亲偷偷对上帝祈祷。

To spare his life...

恳求饶恕他的命......

These men weren't even thirty when they were sent in to battle the atom.

多数奉命前往对抗原子的人都还不到岁.

Today, those that survive are not even 50 years old, but they struggle like senior citizens.

如今幸存者不但已经50岁，还必须如老年人一般地奋力求生。

According to the military, of the 500,000 Chernobyl liquidators twenty thousand have already died.

根据军方说法，五十万名清理人当中有两万人已经死亡。

200,000 are officially disabled.

而有万人宣告残障。

You don't know how long you have to live, or what disease is going to kill you.

你不知道自已还能再活多久，或是自已会死于何种疾病。

You don't know what effects it will have on your children, if you have any.

你不知道自已的孩子会受到何等影响，如果你能有孩子的话。

We know all that, and we know the invisible enemy is eating away inside of us like a worm.

我们都知道这些问题，也知道体内正被无形的敌人鲸吞蚕食。

For us, the war continues, and little by little we're slipping away from this world.

我们的战争仍在持续，而我们正逐渐从这个世界萎逝。

Yet for two decades, only 59 deaths had officially been attributed to the Chernobyl disaster.

然而20年后，只有59人的死亡，被官方归咎于切尔诺贝利灾变。

Not a single study has been carried out on the 130,000 refugees from the zone.

没有任何关于该区13万名难民的研究。

Not a single statistic on the state of the 500,000 liquidators.

没有任何关于50万名清理人状况的统计数字。

No figures on the population that continues to live around Chernobyl and in the contaminated areas.

The real amount of radiation these people were exposed to has never been revealed to them.

Taking advantage of the anarchy in the country she managed to get her hands on a copy of top secret documents:

When I read these documents, I discovered everything happened differently.

I realized just how huge the lie the Party leaders told.

Decree No12 stated that on May 12,1986, 10,198 people had already been hospitalized:

"345 showed signs of radio-lesions..."

“345人显示放射性病变症状”。

Yet at the same time, they were telling us everything was fine,

但是这同时，他们却告诉我们一切都很好，

that it was nothing serious, and I realized the scope of the lies.
